Hello!!
It’s been a while since I’ve been on here! Apologies to all my fans out there (aka my mom)—I had some unfortunate technical difficulties that led to a forced hiatus (technology is just not my friend here).
In the future, I recommend to always always always invest in a surge protector if you’re traveling! The built-in mac mini surge protector is no match for inconsistent electric currents and turbulent power surges. I fried my computer battery as well as my brand new portable charger within the same night because of an unsuspecting power outlet.
Luckily, thanks to the efforts of my lovely mother and a wonderful fellow volunteer who happened to be going home for the holidays, I got a new battery brought back over to me. And then the stars aligned and I somehow found a computer repair toolkit! It took 2 volunteers and several hours to surgically remove all 15 screws from my computer & battery but alas, it is done and here I am.
I have now been in country for almost five months, two of which have been at my village site. There is so much I want to share and it’s a little overwhelming thinking of how to catch everyone up, but I’ll try my best. I’m going to start by back-tracking and posting some stuff I wrote on my phone during stàge so stay tuned!

I enjoyed reading your blog Allison! Your life sounds like RJ's! I admire you and RJ and your other PCV friends for hanging in there and doing this. It's tough, but what an experience! Through you guys we here in the states are learning a lot, and we know you guys are too. Good luck for the next 22 months 😁
